Like many of us, interior designer Anissa Zajac is a big fan of Pinterest. One day when scrolling for inspiration, the visionary behind beloved blog House Seven Design stumbled across an image of a door that stopped her in her tracks.
Knowing that Simpson Door Company can create just about any door, in any design aesthetic, Anissa reached out, seeing if the king of customization could make her door dream a reality. Working hand in hand with Simpson’s customer service team, Anissa determined that new front door would be crafted out of ash wood, a perfect complement to her home’s take on the modern rustic farmhouse trend.
Anissa also took this opportunity to order a Dutched 7482 Exterior Thermal Sash Door for the back of her house, loving the idea of having uninhibited sunlight filter in. What’s more, the halved-door style can both air out the influencer’s home during boiling Indiana summer days, while keeping her four-legged pals (pooches Mumford and Rockie, a furry feline and a flock of chickens) from getting into mischief.
Since both the back door and the front door are fairly exposed to the elements, Anissa made sure to protect her Simpson works of art with WaterBarrier®. The technology is an easy upgrade that serves as an additional weather-proofer/sealant, a must-have with Indianapolis’ variable weather.
WaterBarrier is also a pre-primer, so when the customized front door and Dutch back door arrived, the House Seven Design team had only to apply Sherwin-Williams’ neutral and oh so “Agreeable Gray” before installation. The final result truly pops against the steely “SW Iron Ore” exterior.
